The Mystery Surrounding Tri’s Marketplace in Amarillo

Driving down Washington Street the other day I noticed the parking lot at Tri's Marketplace was empty. Not something I expected to see. They had a Grand Opening just back in November of 2020.

Do you remember back in 2020 when a lot of people were shutting down? Tri's Marketplace could use a second location. Their first one was on Northeast 24th and Grand. They were doing things right. So to see one parking lot empty I was not sure what was going on.

So I drove out to Grand Street and noticed the same thing there. What is going on? They haven't posted on Facebook since their Grand Opening. So the next thing I had to check out was Google Maps.

Both locations are listed as "temporarily closed". That update was made about six weeks ago. So is this really going to be temporary? I sure hope so.

I did some more searching. Facebook does really have a lot of answers when there isn't much to find. On their Grand Opening post which is the last one on the page. There were some comments that may have some answers.

Cannot believe yet another amazing place shutdown for probably a ridiculous reason. So tired of this crap. - Alyssa

I really bet you didn't know one of the owners past away and that is why they shut down.. r.i.p jimmy - Victoria

So whether or not this is going to be temporary or not. I really hope for the family and for our city that it is. To be continued.....
