It's been a couple of weeks since Taco Bell announced that the Mexican Pizza was coming back--Amarillo locations included.. I will be the first to admit I never tried it when it was originally on the menu. So I didn't really understand what the big deal was when it was taken off the menu. Or why it was such a big deal when Taco Bell announced it was back on the menu.

Well, from what I gather, a few days before they available to the public, they could be ordered through the app by those who went looking.

How do I know this? Well, I came home from work and my daughter had some friends over. They were all discussing a quick trip to Taco Bell. They couldn't wait to get a Mexican pizza and they were excited that they could order it through the app ahead of the big day.

I told them to go ahead and get me one of these famed Mexican Pizzas so that I could finally try it. I figured that since I I missed out on New Coke when it was on the shelves, I better try this magical pizza while I could.

The verdict? It was ok.

That is my official review. I'm glad I tried it, but I didn't think it was anything to write home about.

I did see other people saying it wasn't as good as the original. I don't know about that since I never had it before.

I mean it just looked like some tortillas with some beans, some meat, some cheese, and tomatoes. This "magical" pizza.

But I also saw that as soon as it was made available to the public, all the Taco Bells here in Amarillo ran out!

Surely Taco Bell can easily re-order more of the ingredients, I thought.  Wrong. There was yet another announcement made that there would be a little bit of a wait before the Mexican Pizza could be back on the menu. .

That is not where the problem ends and kudos to the employees for not losing their minds. I have seen several people post that when they get to drive up at a Taco Bell they are sometimes met with an employee who has to read off a list of what they are out of completely: Mexican pizzas, burritos, quesadillas, mild and hot sauce, and tomatoes just to name a few. Wow. Just wow.

Not sure what is going on but it looks like this is happening a lot.

The one on I 40 and western didn't even have meat or cheese this past Saturday. Hubby ordered online got all the way there to hear they were out. - Tammie

What the heck is happening here, Taco Bell? Will we ever have Taco Bell and the Mexican Pizza back in full force here in Amarillo? Yikes. I really hope that this can be figured out.
