There's a lot to miss right now. When Amarillo reopens, a lot of us are looking forward to ball games, movies, Wonderland, and things like that.

I'm ready to take in local art in person and not behind a screen. Here's a Facebook page you can follow that will keep you up to date with things happening with our local artists.

1. Live Music

If you're missing live music, there is a Facebook page trying to get the word out about Amarillo artists doing live streams. Check it out by following this link.

I'm ready for there to be concerts and festivals again. We have a lot of local talent, and I'm looking forward to seeing some of them on stage again.

2. Open Mic Nights

Open mics are a blast. It's a crazy mix of the good, the bad, the weird, and the "at least they're trying." Some of my dearest friends have been people I've met at open mics.

I've seen Alice In Chains' "Man In The Box" played on mandolin at an open mic. I saw a guy in a Jedi robe play "Stairway To Heaven" on a sitar once in Oklahoma City. It only happens at open mics.

3. Stand Up Comedy

Amarillo is blessed, not only with musicians, but with some awfully funny comics. If you've never seen some of the funniest Amarillo has to offer, you're missing out. When we finally are told "it's okay," I'm looking forward to seeing Amarillo's comedians back on stage.

4. The Theater

I have yet to take in a stage show in Amarillo. After this all blows over, I'm looking forward to the day when I can take my wife to see a stage show. Really wishing now I had gone to see one of the shows at Amarillo Little Theater that caught my eye before we went "all in."

5. Galleries

We have a lot of talented artists, and I can't wait to go to a gallery so I can see what they've been up to while we're "all in." At least for now there are the murals you can drive by and see.
