There’s A Free “Krampus” Scavenger Hunt In Amarillo This Weekend
Trying to find things to do with the family has been a little tough this year. Trying to find things to do without having to spend a lot of money has been even harder. This weekend, there's a free scavenger hunt taking place that the whole family can get involved with.
The Amarillo Witches' Council will be hosting Krampus' Merry Mischief Maker Scavenger Hunt this Saturday (12/19). It's recommend for ages 10 and up. Minors must be accompanied by a guardian or parent.
While the event is free, space is limited. You'll want to sign up quick if you want to get in on the hunt. You can follow this link to the Witches' Council website for details and to sign up.
The best part of the event (other than being free) is that social distancing and other safety measures are pretty much baked into it, since it is a scavenger hunt.
It is designed for teams of 4. If you don't have a team with that many people, or you are going to participate alone, you can still sign up and be matched up with a team.
It kicks off at 6:30 PM with rules and Q&A, then at 7:30 PM the hunt begins. Everything will be done virtually, so you'll want to make sure your phone is charged.
There will be a virtual after party for those who participate. There's also an ugly sweater contest.
With four kids at home, I've been trying my hardest to stay up to speed on things happening in town that can offer up some fun without breaking the budget this year. I'm really excited to see things like this happening.
It's been a tough year, and I'm thankful for the organizations and groups in Amarillo that have met the challenge head-on in 2020.
