A Step Closer to New Chicken Place in Amarillo

Amarillo loves its food. It doesn't even matter what kind. We love bbq, pizza, greasy burgers, and of course our chicken. We love our chicken places so much that we can have several places nearby and they will all be busy. That is how we roll.

We have been waiting for one chicken place that was supposed to open early in the year. At least that is what Google Maps told us. Oh, but they were wrong.

Golden Chick on 34th and Georgia was supposed to be open already. It is not. It is getting closer. If you drive by a lot, like I do you will notice something that gives us hope. They are getting closer.

Yes, the cones are still in the parking lot preventing us from driving in but that is OK. We are getting ever so close. They are not in the hiring process which is usually the sign we get. Nope, they are in the training process.

The sign even says Opening Soon. So yes, they punked us with the Google listing that said they were opening on January 3rd. We will forgive them. They are actually opening soon for real.

This will be our fourth chicken place in just a couple of miles. We have Chick-fil-A on 26th and Georgia.

There is the Raising Canes just down the road between the Chick-fil-A and the soon-to-open Golden Chick.

Don't forget the original chicken place on Georgia. The one that has been there forever. Of course, don't forget Church's Chicken.

Even with so many chicken places so close by we are excited to get the Golden Chick at 34th and Georgia. So we will keep an eye out and see how soon it really does open.
