Pictures on the County Star-News and Shamrock Volunteer Fire Department Facebook pages are heartbreaking. The saddest part is seeing what is left standing.

It's nothing more than some parts of the rock walls left standing.

I've spent a lot of time in Shamrock. Their St. Patrick's Day celebration is one of the best annual events in the Texas panhandle.

I've been to charity fundraisers, and have even (unfortunately for everyone there) performed on that stage on a few occasions with my guitar, harmonica, and beat up pair of Chuck's.

Seeing those photos of the community center reduced to pretty much rubble hit me hard. I have some really fond memories in that building.

When you look through comments on all of the posts about the fire, you see Shamrock isn't about to let this hold them down. Several have spoken about how sad they are, but they're ready to build a new one bigger and better. They're also not going to let this stop them from having their annual St. Patrick's Day celebration.

One person even quipped "#HometownMakeover."

I have yet to see an official cause attributed to the fire.
