Amarillo Says Hello to Newly Opened Restaurant

As much as we like to complain about all of the closed restaurants here in Amarillo it's not all doom and gloom. Nope, not at all. In fact we have seen our fair share of opened places as well. So there are things to celebrate as well.

In fact one that I have been looking forward to has opened their doors. When I first found out about the fact that Sushi Yama was coming soon I didn't realize their connection. I mean I am all for new sushi places in Amarillo. I remember when there were very limited places to go here for good sushi. Now we have several places. So it's not all just steak and potatoes here.

So Sushi Yama at 3562 S Soncy by Palio's and Crumbl Cookie was set to open. Then I realized that the people opening this location were the same people that opened Oishii Japanese Sushi and Sake on Virginia Circle.

That was really good news. If you haven't been to Oishii then you just don't know what you are missing. I took my daughter there once when she was in town and now every time she comes to visit that is one of the stops she wants to make. So to know that they have their hand in Sushi Yama just means it is going to be good.

Maybe you don't live near the Georgia Street area and this new location on Soncy is more convenient. The good news is that they are open and ready to serve you. They had a private tasting before they opened that I was invited to attend. Of course, I was out of town.

Now that they are open there is no excuse not to get by and try them out.
