2021 is a year we're all hoping will bring us closer to normal. If you're looking for a sign that we could get close this year, look to Hodgetown.
The Sod Poodles have announced they're having sign-ups for this year's Sod Pups Club. I'm going to take that as a sign that we're more than likely going to have a baseball season this year.
The Sod Pups Club is the club for kids every season that gives them exclusive team merch, tickets, and discounts.
The Sod Pups club costs $25 per child for the season. It's open to kids ages 12 and under.
With the memory of 2020 constantly lurking in the back of my mind, I'm constantly celebrating anything that looks like progress compared to the last year. We all can think back and remember the slow end to the baseball season in Amarillo. After postponing the start to the season, it was eventually announced that in 2020 there would be no Sod Poodles baseball in Amarillo.
With this announcement, I find myself having hope that things will start getting back to normal. While there may still be health guidelines and regulations in place when the season starts, it's better than spending the summer the way we did last year.
