We get new restaurants and we lose them. That is how they go. Sometimes they are expected. Really they are. Some just kind of close unexpectedly. Amarillo can be a tough place to open. I mean you need to get the word out about your new place. If you don't that is the end of you.

I think that is what happened to Senor Chubby's. They took over the former Leal's location. I was so excited to see them move into the neighborhood. They opened in October. I even tried them on pretty much day one. We had a great experience.

They offered free margarita's with certain meal purchases. Which we found out later was a no-no with TABC. OK, so they could come back from that. They finally got their liquor license so I thought it was smooth sailing from there. But apparently not.

Liquor doesn't solve all problems I guess. I had a friend walk up to try and enjoy their Taco Tuesday special and got denied.

Permanently closed was the sign that met him. Not only that but all of the U-haul trucks that were surrounding the building. I guess the closing is really permanent. It really didn't take long. They opened in October and here it is April. So six months is all it really took.

That really upsets me. It was a neighborhood place. They had margaritas on Monday. Tuesdays were made for Tacos. They had days that kids ate free. They had it all. I just don't know what happened.

All I can think is where is Victor? We need Victor Leal back here. I know he has his Leal's location in Muleshoe but bring it back to Amarillo. Please.
