Amarillo Walmart Takes Stance and Has Much Needed Calmer Hours
One of the things about shopping at Walmart is that you can count on being able to enjoy people-watching. Even if you don't like to be around a lot of people Walmart is always the place you can count on to put on a show.
I mean the whole "People of Walmart" is a thing for a reason. Sometimes an afternoon trip to Walmart can be a chore. Especially if you find yourself being over-stimulated. I get it. All the chaos. All the people. Oh, and I have heard more than once how those fluorescent lights can really mess with a person.

I get it. It's a little much at times. It seems that even Walmart has understood this could be a problem. They are doing something about it. Which we can all agree can be a good thing.
If a trip to Walmart is a bit much they are making some changes at the Walmart on Arden Road. They have set hours to make the experience a bit more enjoyable. A time when you can go in and enjoy your shopping experience.
They are going to implement Sensory Friendly Hours. They are going to make sure that between the hours of 8 am and 10 am on Saturdays that the experience at the Neighborhood Walmart will be a bit calmer for everyone.
I am not sure if there is something they will be able to do with the fluorescent lights but it is a start. This really is a good move for Walmart to be aware of how a trip to Walmart can be an issue for people who have issues with being over-stimulated.
This is something they are trying at the Arden Road Neighborhood Walmart but would be a good move to have designated hours at other Walmarts. Heck, I wouldn't mind seeing this something making its way to other stores in the world.
Kudos to Walmart for making a positive change.
