Amarillo’s Westgate Mall: Popular Girls’ Store Closing Its Doors

We just recently heard about a new food place moving into the food court inside Amarillo's Westgate Mall. Things are looking good with the announcement of Rotor City. It seems though that with the good comes the bad. This one is really bad depending on who you talk to.

Who Are We Losing in Westgate Mall?

This store was always a favorite of my daughters and we would shop there every time we were in a mall that had one. Amarillo did not have a location yet. So when we finally got a Forever 21 we were thrilled.

Then back in 2019, Amarillo made a list of locations that were closing. Out of 178, Westgate Mall was losing its Forever 21. It was a sad day.

Until it wasn't. Not long after that list came out, we found out that the lease was renegotiated and our Forever 21 was saved. For now.

That was then and this is now. The news is not so great once again. Our Forever 21 is currently having a going out of business sale. This is the end of the road for our Amarillo location.

I received a text from my friend Kristen. Her daughter was at the mall when she noticed the sales and sent a text to her mom.

I hate to hear that because it is a store my daughter frequents even all of these years later. It is still her go-to when she is shopping in Amarillo. So I had to let her know.

So the news is not good for fans of Forever 21, but it is good if you want to get some shopping done. The sales are only going to get better.
