Amarillo’s Discovery Center Gets New Friend for Dinosaurs

We have a lot of great things for our families to do in Amarillo. I would have to say the best part of being a Mimi is that I get to do a lot of those fun family activities again. When my daughter was growing up we loved going to the Discover Center.

We would go a lot. Then she got older and those trips stopped happening. What used to be an almost every weekend trip just was no more. That was sad for me. Now that I have a granddaughter I have a reason to go again.

In fact, we just went a couple of weekends ago when they were in town. Laila loves running up to the fence before we even go inside to say hi to the dinosaurs. I mean she is two and it is so cute.

This last trip we actually got to go out to the Outside Science Park. On our other trips, it had been closed because of the weather. So she got to get up close and personal with both dinosaurs. She loved it.

It looks like something is changing at the Discovery Center. They made the announcement last week. They were going to have to close the Outdoor Science Park for a couple of days but they were going to be back.

The dinosaurs were getting a roommate. That is exciting. So we just had to wait to see what all of the fuss was about.

The Discovery Center did update its post.

So you can go out and watch as the progress is happening. The roommate has not been revealed yet. All in good time. We can't wait to see who it is going to be.
