Good News Amarillo Kohl's is Opening Up a Bit Sooner Than Planned

I know we are used to all the bad news. A place is going to open. Then it gets pushed back. It may be a few weeks. It may be longer than that. It can be frustrating. When the news is that something is going to be open sooner it's welcomed news.

Very welcomed news. That is the news I got from Kohl's. They have been closed for a long time due to having a pipe burst. What a mess. It ruined everything. They have been closed since.

Which is a shame. The amount of coupons I get in the mail. The amount of discounts through my email. Oh, and the Kohl's Cash I never got to spend. Yes, I know I could shop online. I end up doing that a lot.

Sometimes I just like to browse for new ideas. So I really need to get Kohl's back open. Originally when I heard from Kohl's they told me they would be opening back up soon:

Thank you for contacting Kohl's directly. In June, we temporarily closed the Kohl's store located at 2610 S. Soncy Rd. in Amarillo, TX, due to flood damage caused by a broken water line. The building has been repaired and deemed safe by a structural engineer. We look forward to welcoming our customers back when we reopen on Nov. 3 at 9 a.m.

So that is what I originally reported. Which is good news. Until I saw even better news. I reached back out to Kohl's directly but thought taking a drive out to Soncy would be even better.

So that is what I did. I even drove past the fencing that is still in place. I was able to drive up to the doors and see these signs on the doors.

Yes, they will open five days earlier than the expected November 3rd date. Why? They are calling it a soft opening. They got mostly new staff so they want to have a few days to work out all of the kinks.

The store is different. The merchandise is new. The employees are as well. They will have their official Grand Opening on November but you can sneak in a few days earlier. This is good to hear.
