Have You Noticed the Changes at This Amarillo Chick-fil-A?
When it comes to noticing changes I guess I am pretty good at it. Some changes around town are subtle. Oh, and some you can't help but notice. Especially if it is somewhere that you spend a lot of time.
Chick-fil-A on Georgia is one of those places. There is a lot of time spent eating there. Then since I have decided to do some DoorDashing on the side it seems like I walk through those doors even more.
As I went to pick up an order the other night I noticed a change. I asked a few employees the back-story. Not a lot of answers. I saw owner, Joshua Raef, in the store. He was busy as he usually is so I didn't want to interrupt.
I decided to message him to find out what was up with the new design indoors. The dining room was rearranged. There are now some dividers throughout the store. I had a feeling I knew the answer.
To be fair, this new area has been inside the store for a couple years. They just had to expand it more and that was what I had noticed. The change in the dining room. The expansion in the area of the delivery service.
Chick-fil-A seems to be adding more and more delivery cars every time I stop by. That could only mean one thing. Their delivery service is thriving. The fact that I even get DoorDash opportunities to pick up from there surprises me. Or really it doesn't. They are already pretty busy so I feel like I am helping out every now and then. Like I am a part of that Chick-fil-A on Georgia family.
According to Raef:
We were one of the first Chick-fil-A’s in the country to offer in-house delivery, we started in October of 2019. Then a little pandemic kicked in and the business exploded, so we had to move that operation into the dining room.
That meant those dividers and the rearrangement of the dining room. You have to work with what you have:
When the pandemic calmed down and we opened our dining room back up, the delivery business stayed strong so we had to get these dividers to kind of hide that operation over there. We can’t move it back to the kitchen - there’s no stuffing that genie back in the bottle, the operation is too big.
The operation is too big. Which is a good thing. They needed to make way and give more room to a thriving part of their business.
Raef and his crew at the Chick-fil-A on Georgia has found a way to make it work. They are able to roll with the punches. It's great to see a business continue to thrive. Raef and his crew find a way to make it work each and every time. Oh, and they have more changes in the work.
