Our morning didn't start the way we were expecting. We got to start with hearing the cries of a kitten coming from the Townsquare Media parking lot. The sun had not come out yet so we had to investigate.

Where was the sound coming from? It didn't take long to figure that out. We have this one area next to our building that has grates. Underneath the grates is a pretty far drop. Our building has a basement. So it is equal to the distance of the basement. It's a pretty far drop.

Which is what we discovered happened to the animal bringing those cries. There was a cat in that area. We were not sure how long it had been there. Was it there all weekend? We had a cold weekend and we think the cat was looking for some warmth. The cat found a cone in that area and buried itself in there to keep warm.

There was no food or water there and no easy way to get any to the cat. We made a call to Animal Control and waited. During our weekly meeting, we started discussing the cat and how we were going to get to it. We explored the basement to see if there was any way to get to it.

There wasn't. So short of finding someone with a ladder that kitten would just be stuck there. We couldn't let that happen. We started asking our Jack of all trades salesman Gary if he knew anyone. Salespeople always know someone.

He started texting and let us know that he got ahold of Amarillo Installation and they would be here in about ten minutes with a ladder. We couldn't just leave that poor cat there. We just couldn't.

They got here and got to work. Now the ladder was put down in the area next to the building. We thought that maybe the kitten would be appreciative of being rescued. Nope. The chase was on. The cat was scared and wanted nothing to do with this guy who was just trying to help.

The cat of Townsquare Media was saved. Not before he bit the hand that tried to save him. Because of course. Oh, and we had to go and get the cat some food. So my digital guru wanted to make sure I let everyone know that I abandoned her with this angry feral kitten in her arms.

Not really what happened. I went to get the poor kitten some food. Walgreens was next door. Nobody told her to hold the kitten. She did. The kitten was put in a warm jacket to calm her and warm her some until the food arrived.

In the end, the kitten of Townsquare was saved. She was let go. Well, more accurately she ran away into a warm shed nearby. Food was placed in the area that she did find and she did enjoy.

So we did our part. We saved a life. Regardless of how angry the kitten ended up being. Not appreciative. Just angry.
