The Regal Cinema Building in Amarillo Has a New Owner
When Regal Cinema went out of business in Amarillo in September 2022, the city lost a great place to go and see movies.
Since that time, this giant empty movie theater has been sitting empty surrounded by hotels and restaurants. The ghost of many happy memories.
Well, now we know what will become of the old United Artists/Regal Building.
Cinergy has acquired the Regal UA Amarillo Star building.
Cinergy announced today, Wednesday, September 13, 2023, that it has acquired the former Regal Cinemas location in Amarillo, 8275 W Amarillo Blvd, and Midland.
“We couldn’t be more excited to invest in these real estate properties within the communities that we already know so well,” said Jeff Benson, Founder & CEO. “This will be our second real estate acquisition in Amarillo and our third acquisition in the Midland-Odessa area, and we are invigorated by the opportunity to continue to be a part of these growing communities.”
It'll be interesting to see what else Cinergy will be bringing to Amarillo. Right now it has a great location with a ton of fun for Amarillo. It'll be fun to see what they will create with this building.
According to Cinergy, all Cinergy centers feature luxury recline-and-dine cinemas with alcoholic beverages, and most include a menu of chef-inspired American favorites. In addition to upscale cinema amenities, many Cinergy locations feature a unique selection of interactive games and a variety of other amenities, including bowling, axe throwing, laser tag, escape rooms, Virtual Reality, and elevated ropes course with zip lines.
This is great news for the area. This building holds a ton of memories for some, and now it will be alive again to create more memories for others.
