Amarillo, Texas, and baseball are two things that go together.   Although this time we are not talking about Sod Poodles.  We're talking about making miracles happen with a ball and bat.

The Children's Miracle Network is an organization here in Amarillo that helps our local sick kids.   As a result of the amazing things CMN does along with the help of the Texas Panhandle people, there are thousands of miracles running around today.

Children’s Miracle Network is dedicated to promoting and improving the quality of children’s healthcare.

As we mentioned earlier about miracles running around, some of them run around a baseball diamond.

The annual CMN Home Run Derby is back.

The event will take place at Hodgetown on Saturday, May 11th.

This is a fun event that kids will love. The great thing about it is that you don't even have to be good at baseball to enjoy it. Any skill level is welcome to participate and have a blast.

The goal is for kiddos to hit home runs and win rings!

The event starts at 5 pm and gates open at 4:30 pm. Bring the whole family for fun with bouncy houses and home runs for kids of all ages!  Spectators get in for free.

Each participant in the home run derby will take home a cool CMN Home Run Derby swag bag, and the winners will walk away with a medal or ring.

Oh and Dads, you're not off the hook, you didn't want to be anyway, you're feeling a tinge of jealousy that the kids get to hit home runs and you don't.  Don't worry, you're in luck!

Dad's Derby

Think you have what it takes to hit the most home runs?  Here's your chance.  The Home Run Derby will wrap up at the end of the night with the dads taking a turn at home plate.

There's even a special prize for the Dad that wins!

All funds raised will stay local to help local kids.
