[REVIEW] What Makes Oishii Sushi and Sake So Special?

I remember when my daughter was growing up. I wanted her to eat more than chicken nuggets and french fries. I wanted to introduce her to all kinds of foods. I was that mom who made her try all sorts of stuff. Now mind you some of it was the "I will give you five dollars if you just try it" approach.

Anyway, it worked a little too well for me. She is not a picky eater at all. Which leads to her wanting to go to all the expensive places for dinner not just for a special occasion but for every day. Her introduction to sushi? Oh, she loved it. Which means I have a sushi date for life. I am good with that

Oishii Japanese Sushi & Sake - 2721 Virginia Circle

We learned not that long ago that we were getting a new sushi place by my house in the Wolflin area. I remember sending my daughter the text that we had to try it out. She of course said she was game.

Oishii Japanese Sushi & Sake moved into our neighborhood about a month ago. They are located at 2721 Virginia Circle in the former Ember's Steakhouse and David's Steakhouse locations. They are having their grand opening and we were invited out for dinner.

When we got there we were asked what we wanted to try. Now the fact that neither one of us are picky and I wanted to try new things I said to bring us stuff to try. We eat sushi. We have had the basics like the California rolls and stuff like that. We wanted someone else's suggestion. That is exactly what they did.

Now if you are going out to dinner and you have that person that doesn't like sushi, don't worry, there is stuff for them too. Oishii still has pad thai (which the one we got was great of course). They also have the fan favorites like fried rice. So there is something for everyone.

They also have stuff that is just unique to Oishii. Dishes that you can not get anywhere else. Do you want to eat something that will get everyone's attention? The lobster bomb is the dish for you. It comes out smoking. So you know when you are in a Mexican food restaurant and you get the fajitas? Everyone notices and watches. The lobster bomb is like that.

Another attention grabber and I was so glad someone got one while we were there, is the sushi boats. Wow. That will also get the attention of everyone. If you are hosting a big party one of these will feed a group. Also looks to be quite affordable.

I was impressed when I walked in to Oishii. I wasn't sure how the atmosphere was going to be. Will it be stuffy? Will it be welcoming? We had so many different employees come and greet us. We also had other tables that were joining in and checking out our food. That is the thing about sushi. Everyone wants to know what everyone else is getting.

The menu is huge. The hardest part will be choosing just one thing. As you can tell we just filled the table and shared. You can't go wrong doing that.
