Run Walk or Even Sleep Your Way to Help Amarillo’s MTK Foundation

To know Madison Taylor Knebush is to love her. She was just sixteen years old when she lost her battle with childhood cancer. Her death led her parents, Shannon and Levi, to create the MTK Foundation in her memory.

The MTK Foundation helps several families in the area with pretty much anything they need while their own child is fighting that fight with pediatric cancer. It's a great cause and they have several events throughout the year to help raise money.

The one that is coming up in a few weeks is the MTK Memorial Run. This year will be the 11th Annual. It takes place at Austin Park. So you can run, walk, or sign up as a sleepwaker. They even have an option to just come play in the park, with the Family Fun in the Park. So many ways to help out and have a good time.

If you are a runner and want to compete they will have both a 5K and 10K run. The run through Wolflin has been said to be one of the most enjoyable ones with all of the trees. They do help keep the runners a bit cooler than most other areas.

If you want to support and just take a stroll through beautiful Wolflin there is also a one-mile run or walk. Something that is a little more of my speed is to donate and get to actually sleep in. Heck, sleeping is my favorite thing to do. That money will also go to this great cause.

Or you can just have a fun time playing in the park and enjoying the bounce house with the family. However, you choose to participate will all help out this wonderful cause.
