Amarillo Closing 2024

Some businesses here in Amarillo make it and some don't. Some try really hard. They may move locations. They may run specials. They may try everything that they can and in the end, it is all the same. Another closed business in Amarillo.

The thought was that maybe Amarillo was about to slow down a bit with all of the openings and closings. I mean just for a few days. It would be nice to give us some time to try to digest everything that has come and gone in the past few months. It's been a bit of a whirlwind.

It seems like 2024 has been the year of closed businesses in Amarillo. This is not the kind of thing we want to see. There have been restaurants that have quickly closed their doors. Oh, and there have been stores as well. What is going on this year?

In a world where streaming seems to be the way of the world, this can't come as too much of a surprise. The Redbox Kiosks are all going away. Just like the Hastings went away. Just like the Blockbusters went away. Just like Netflix's DVD service went away. Now it is Redbox's turn.

There are not a lot of businesses in Amarillo that can brag about longevity in our area. There are so many businesses that come and go. They open with such high hopes. They make it for a while but sadly then they close their doors.

The south Amarillo staple had been open for just a year.

Amarillo's Westgate Mall has once again lost another place to eat in the food court. It was not that long ago when two other places shut down. Now a month later it has happened again.

As we are making our way to the new year we start to reflect on our lives. We think ahead to the upcoming year and what we want to accomplish. We all do that. Then we try to make the improvements to start accomplishing some of these things.

Restaurant ownership in Amarillo can be a whirlwind. Unfortunately, some places can close as fast as they open. They are here one moment and then gone. Even if they got some buzz on social media it seems that some businesses never seem to take off.
