Restaurant ownership in Amarillo can be a whirlwind. Unfortunately, some places can close as fast as they open. They are here one moment and then gone. Even if they got some buzz on social media it seems that some businesses never seem to take off.

This could be for many reasons. If people don't really know you are there that can be an issue. If nobody knows if you are actually open that can hurt you. If people can't name your business because nobody knows what it is called, well that can be a big issue.

All of those reasons seemed to put an end to a restaurant in Amarillo. I can't really tell you what it was called. I just know of it as the new Cuban restaurant that moved into the Frank's Bakery location.

There was some buzz about it. I did see some good reviews. When I would drive by I could never really tell if they were open. They didn't have a sign with the name of the place. They kept the old Frank's Bakery sign up in the parking lot. So that is a bit confusing.

I had reached out to the owner back in August when the word first came out. There was no menu yet. He was going to get back to me when there was. I never heard back but they were open because I saw reviews going around social media.

I was hoping they would finally get a sign. Get some real traction and be a success. A lot of positive reviews about the food being good is a plus. I recently saw a post saying they have closed.

There is a real estate sign outside the building. So that is a clear sign that they are gone. Having a restaurant in Amarillo is tough. Making it a success can be even tougher. Here is to 2024 being a successful year for restaurants in our area.
