This Friday There Will Be A Test Of Outdoor Sirens In Amarillo

This Friday you will hear sirens wailing in Amarillo. No need to worry though, it's only a test...unless God has a really sick sense of humor.

A release from the Amarillo Area Office of Emergency Management reminds everyone that the last Friday of the month is reserved for testing the sirens.

From the release:

The Amarillo Area Office of Emergency management will be conducting the monthly test of the Outdoor Warning System and Suddenlink Television Cut-In on Friday, June 28, 2019 between 11:30 a.m. and noon.

So this Friday, don't worry when you hear the sirens between 11:30 a.m. and noon (somewhere around lunch time). It's just a test. The only thing we really have to worry about is the neighbor's dog barking uncontrollably.

The tests take place every month, on the last Friday of the month.
