This One Inconvenience Really Gets Me Amarillo

I drink a lot of water. I mean a lot. I have a water cooler and three of the five-gallon jugs of water. I try to keep them full at all times. I mean I really do drink a lot of water. Especially with the weather we have had lately.

I know inflation has even trickled down to the water places. You know the ones I am talking about. They are stand alone places. Some have water. Others can get you hooked up with water or ice.

I went to get one of the jugs filled up recently. I brought my $1.25 because that is what it costs. Like other's have found out it has gone up. I had to scramble for another quarter because it was now $1.50. OK, I can let that slide.

Here is what I don't get. Why can't one of these have a credit card reader? Do you know how often I carry cash? I really don't. I only write a check when my exterminator comes and I only need cash to get water.

It is such an inconvenience to make sure I always have a few dollar bills on me. My daughter brought her money with to Amarillo to deposit into one of her accounts here. Since she is a server she brought me a lot of cash. I had to make sure I bought some ones off of her.

I wouldn't have to if just one of these places had a card reader. A co-worker said that maybe it was because they were afraid someone would attach a card skimmer to it and steal our card information. Heck, I would pull and pull on that machine just to make sure it is for real.

When I am in Dallas their machines all have a credit card reader. Why is that not a problem there? Is it because these water places are too old and would be hard to incorporate a reader into one? I don't know. I just know that would be where I would always go for water.

Yes, I know there are businesses that I can go to that I can use my credit/debit card. Did I mention I prefer to spend only $1.50 on my water. I am in radio after all. I have to save money when and where I can.

I just wish I didn't have to keep stashing ones when I get them just so I can get my precious water. Lets get one convenient water business that has a card reader. I would love to use my debit or credit card to make my life easier.
