What Amarillo Can Learn From The Brawl At Buffalo Springs Lake
In case you missed it over the weekend, there was a brawl at Buffalo Springs Lake. There was also a massive crowd that was compared to the size of crowds for Memorial Day and the Fourth of July.
Here is the video. It is pretty wild. Heads up, it does include some very NSFW language.
This is why we can't have nice things. Because of these "recent events" as it was referred to, the beaches at Buffalo Springs Lake are closed until further notice. For added fun, read through the comments in the Facebook post from Buffalo Springs Lake below.
What was so important, so unforgivable, that things had to be ruined for everyone? I feel sorry for the people who just wanted to show up and have a nice, drama free good time.
As Texas works towards reopening, don't forget that we're all still in this together. Getting back to as close to normal as possible is going to take everyone working together, not acting like this.
Being stuck inside, not being able to go to some of your favorite places, and just the massive amount of stress we're all under is going to have a lot of people on edge. If you can't play nice, just stay home.
That's what we can learn from this, Amarillo. As things reopen, it's going to take some time to get back to "normal." So be kind. Stay safe. We'll get through this together.
Or, we'll wind up like Buffalo Springs Lake.
