A New Place to Eat Opened Up in Westgate Mall Food Court
At the end of last year, we found out that a few places we have known and loved in the food court at Westgate Mall closed down. It seemed we had no warning that Sonic and Corn Dog 7 was gone. What were we going to do?
So when that happens we can at least look forward to new places moving in. At least we hope that is the case. Well, the good news is that in this case, it is true. Over the weekend my daughter found this story for me.
She knows that when it comes to food I am the one who loves to find stuff like this out. Someone she knows posted about her mom opening a place in the Food Court of Westgate Mall.
That caught my intention, to say the least. So, I decided to stop by and see what they had to offer.
Let Me Introduce Rotini & The Alfredos
It sounds like a new band all the kids would listen to back in the day. I promise you it's better than that. A place where you can stop while you are shopping and get your fill. I mean nothing is more filling than pasta anyway.
I couldn't find much information online but stopping by really helped me find out what was going on. Oh, and I got lunch too.
The post we found on Facebook said that they opened up over the weekend. Oh, and that we all need to try the Buffalo Chicken Mac. You had me at Buffalo chicken.
So I went by and talked to Diego. I asked him who opened this place in Westgate Mall. He told me it was his dad, Diego Acosta, and his aunt Deana Schows. They had their test run on Saturday and opened for good on Sunday.
They were still waiting on some more signage. It is pretty plain right now. I went ahead and ordered. I got the Buffalo Mac with chicken.
It really was the bomb. I love buffalo sauce so it's hard to go wrong with this one. I added chicken to mine even though it would have been good still even without it.
My daughter, Faith, ordered the Anaheim with chicken. This one was my first choice to order but since my daughter picked it I decided it was best to all get something different so we can try more than one thing. This has creamy alfredo mixed with green chile sauce, whole diced tomatoes, and topped with parmesan cheese. She also added chicken to hers.
We ordered Diego's alfredo for my granddaughter. It has the rotini noodles with alfredo sauce and is topped with parmesan. We also added chicken to hers too.
My only complaint is that it didn't look like they offered kids meals. Since the alfredo was for my one-year-old granddaughter it was too much food. She was overall ok with that. It just meant she got to enjoy more than one meal out of it.
I think maybe they should offer kids meals. I know there are tons of kids that go to the mall.
Overall the food was great. It would be something I would grab again while I was shopping at the mall. Good luck to Rotini and the Alfredo's on their grand opening week in Westgate Mall.
