Amarillo 8-Year-Old Shot In Head In Road Rage Incident
There are just things in life I will never understand.
Road rage is one of them, and when the rage turns violent, it's incomprehensible to me.

On Friday night, a dad and son were leaving HODGETOWN after a thrilling extra innings game and a fireworks show. What was an exhilarating and fun evening turned tragic in a matter of moments.
Eric Frausto and his son were nearly hit by a man who decided to run a red light. We've talked many times about how it seems people in Amarillo love to keep going even though the light tells them it's time to stop.
Frausto honked his horn at the driver after they escaped being hit by the man. It seems the driver that ran the red light didn't appreciate having a horn honked at him, so he sadly took matters into his own hands.
58-year-old Frankie Lee Haigood decided it would be best to slow down and wait for Frausto to let him know he didn't appreciate the horn, even though he's the one who ran the red light nearly hitting them.
Haigood then pulled out a gun and fired multiple shots at the vehicle, and one of the bullets struck Frausto's 8-year-old son, Nicco in the head.
After firing the multiple shots, Haigood tried to get away. Frausto sped up and slammed into his truck. APD arrived on the scene of what they thought was just a car accident. That was when they learned the grim truth.
Nicco was then rushed to a hospital in Lubbock to have immediate surgery to save his life. He was listed in serious condition when he arrived.
Thankfully, the surgery was successful and little Nicco is going to be ok after being released from the hospital.
Photos from Frausto's car show a bullet hole in the headrest where Nicco was sitting and several other bullet holes through windows and the front windshield.
Road rage in general is just flat-out dangerous, but when it turns violent like this, it's entirely unacceptable. Thankfully Nicco is going to be ok.
There is a GoFundMe account setup for the family as they will undoubtedly have a mountain of medical bills they need to take care of. You can donate by clicking here.
