The Downside of Buc-ee’s Opening in Amarillo Soon

We are getting close to realizing a dream in Amarillo. We are about to become a city with a Buc-ee's. That is huge. Once just a place we would visit when we travelled will now be in our own backyard.

A lot of people see this as a good thing. I mean just the jobs alone that it creates is big for our city. They pay well so that is huge for their employees. We now will be a stopping ground for more than just a 72 oz. steak and cars buried in the ground.

Our city is about to become hit with Buc-ee's fans. They are going to be spending money in Amarillo. A lot of money.  So this is good for Amarillo. The number of people exiting Airport Boulevard is going to be crazy to see. We are so glad they put in traffic lights to help that out a bit.

What Could Be Bad About Buc-ee's Coming to Amarillo?

Yes, there are countless good things about Buc-ee's coming to Amarillo, there really are. Then there is this one big downside. I realized it over the weekend. I haven't even ever been to a Buc-ee's and I see it.

Most people can't believe I have never been to one especially since my daughter lives real close to one in Dallas. I decided once Amarillo was getting one I was going to let that one be my first experience with Buc-ee's.

That doesn't mean I haven't already spent plenty of money inside of one. My daughter went to the one by her house over the weekend. My granddaughter loves Buc-ee's, like most people. At three years old she really loved seeing the Halloween Inflatable Buc-ee.

So when they went they now have the Christmas Buc-ee inflatable. So we had to get it for Mimi's house.  I told her if she picked it up for me just use my card to pay for everything. I ended up spending about one hundred dollars on this trip to Buc-ee's and I have never been inside one.

The downfall is what is going to happen when we have a Buc-ee's in our city. We won't have to limit our trips to when we are traveling. We can go to Buc-ee's anytime we want. We are going to spend a lot of money at Buc-ee's. We just are going to.

We will be getting all of the new holiday shirts. We can stop there just whenever we want to get Beaver nuggets or a BBQ sandwich. This can be very dangerous. Start getting that second job now. That may have to be strictly for your Buc-ee's fund.
