Ooh this is about to get good. We have hoped. We have wished. We have pleaded with the powers that be. For all that is good in the world. Please bring a Buc-ee's to Amarillo.

We won't have to drive to the Dallas area to take part in this cult that is the Buc-ee's fan. I mean it's like a dream come true. Or so I hear from all of my friends. I will admit I have never been to a Buc-ee's. Oh, and I have no excuse, I feel like I am in Dallas almost every other weekend.

I know I am missing out on a lot. I get it. So bring one here. I will go. I promise.

Then I received this message the other day. It sparked my interest. It really did.

Wait. What? Coming from someone who works for the city. "Someone" who would know information like this. I mean this is almost as good as hearing it straight from the folks at Buc-ee's. Oh and I tried. I really did. They are tight-lipped.

We need a Buc-ee's here in Amarillo. We really do.

So we discussed at work where would be a great place for the Buc-ee's. I mean it would have to be on I-40. You know the most travelled roads here in Amarillo. It just has to be. We discussed that towards Bushland would be a great location. The folks who go out to Cadillac Ranch would be ready to make a trip to Buc-ee's. That is for sure.

We also mentioned if not there the only other logical place would be near the airport. You know, before the 287 split? I mean, they have the traffic from people arriving via the airport. Buc-ee's would be their first stop.

You have the Travel and Tourism location right around there. Yes, that would be another great place. So what did this map show?

Hmm. Is this true? It seems like a really good possibility. Oh and a great location. We will keep snooping.

It's no secret that Texas is home to some pretty strange town names. While the names of these places are strange enough on their own, sometimes the story behind the name is even stranger.
