If you go through your closet you probably have an old t-shirt that you just love. Odds are that shirt may be a t-shirt of a favorite band or artist. You may have picked it up at a concert you once went to. Oh, the memories.

I have a few that I just can't part with. I don't care how many holes the shirt has I can't toss it. I obviously don't wear it but the memories. I can' toss my REM concert tee or my one from the U2 show.

You can go to almost any store that sells clothing in Amarillo and find a t-shirt that has a band on it. Whether it's The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica, or Nirvana. They are all over. I have seen the trend of adults asking kids that are wearing them to name a song by the band.

For the love of all that is holy please learn the music. Don't give us an early stroke. My granddaughter, who is nearly one, was wearing a Nirvana t-shirt over the weekend. She can't talk yet but by golly, she will know some songs that they sing.

That is partially because I am in radio. Even if not music is important. If you are going to wear the shirt know the band, please. So I was walking around the house yesterday singing "Come as You Are", "Teen Angst", and "Lithium". Those are just a few songs from their large library.

Do the work. Make us proud. If you go to Westgate Mall and grab a shirt off the racks and don't want to be made fun of. Please learn something. Don't be an embarrassment.

I am not alone.

What Band T-Shirts Do You Own?

The t-shirts my granddaughter already has and will need to learn their music vary. She has the Nirvana shirt. She owns a Notorius BIG shirt and one of the Beatles. So she will have a great mix of music knowledge. That is though the way it should be.
