Knife Fight? Sod Poodles Head Groundskeeper Wins Big Money.
Passion by definition is a "strong and barely controllable emotion".
We all have SOMETHING that we are passionate about in our lives. It may be our family, maybe a hobby that we have.
For example, yes I'm passionate about my family. I have another passion though, sports cards. When I'm not doing something with the family, that is what you can find me immersed in. I talk my wife's ear off about them. We've been together almost 20 years...and she still struggles to understand it.
However, there's an Amarillo man who has a passion that just paid off big time for him.
His name is Jason Floyd, and if you've been to an Amarillo Sod Poodles game you've probably seen him. He's the head groundskeeper at HODGETOWN.
He's also an avid knifeman. He collects them and makes them himself.
There's a show on History Channel, "Forged in Fire" that is dedicated to "world-class bladesmiths re-create historical edged weapons in a cutthroat competition" according to their website.
Jason was seen on social media and was asked if he wanted to be a part of the show. With that opportunity, he ran all the way to the $10,000 prize for winning the show.
Floyd constructed a ninja blade for the show and got a little help along the way so he could complete the project as you can see in his Facebook post above.
HODGETOWN held a watch party for the show on Wednesday night so people could come out and support Jason. No word on whether or not he shared a little of those winnings with the people in attendance.
