Lips Fundraiser Celebrates 30 Years of Empowering Opportunity School!

For years I have heard about this fundraiser that Opportunity School held called Lips. Now they have been doing it for thirty years. It has changed over the year but the one thing that has stayed the same is it's the biggest fundraiser they have. Opportunity School is a great place.

When my daughter was living in Amarillo we toured one of them. She loved it. She wanted her daughter in that school. As one would expect there was a pretty long waiting list. She never ended up getting my granddaughter in there because she ended up moving to Dallas.

That one tour that I took with her was amazing. I got to see all the great things they do with their students. They do use the funds raised at Lips year after year to help with their wonderful program.

So here we are celebrating their 30th year of hosting LIPS. It used to be an event that had different participants lip synching to different songs. It was always a lot of fun. As you can imagine an event like this over the years has to evolve. The show must go on and the funds have to be raised.

This years LIPS 2023 is coming up. According to a press release this years will be held on Saturday, September 23rd. According to executive director Jill Goodrich:

LIPS has been a favorite event since its creation in 1993, and we are thrilled change things up with a new approach to celebrate 30 years. LIPS gives us the opportunity to partner with the community for a night of fun and entertainment to benefit Opportunity School families.

This years LIPS is featuring an acoustic performance from Jamestown Revival at the newly renovated Sunset Courtyard and AJ Swope Performance Plaza at Arts in the Sunset. A new location to check out.
