When you wake up early on Sunday morning and check social media to see what's happening around good ol' Amarlllo, Texas...you never know what you'll read.

The first thing I saw was someone asking about the Popeyes on Paramount. Apparently, something went down early Sunday morning which led to having police cars and fire trucks in the parking lot. Shockingly, there were no comments with any answers to the question.

Is the Popeye's on Paramount Closed?

I decided to drive by and see what was going on for myself. Were they going to be open or not? Google Maps had them listed as open but I had a feeling that was not right.

The lights were off. The chairs were all placed on top of the tables.

No note on the main doors. No note at the drive-thru.

The drive-thru sign was off.

So that was something.

There was one lonely sign on the door near the drive-thru.

It was from the health department.

Why is Popeye's on Paramount Closed?

Regrettably, the sign offered no real answers as to why the place was closed...aside from the giant red letters 'CLOSED'. Which is obvious enough

Other than that it said "Emergency Response Inspection", it also had the boxes marked for "Hot/Cold Holding" and "Protection From Contamination".

So what does that mean?

Why did it warrant having the police and fire department out there?

Were there actually fire and police cars there?

Does anyone know the scoop? We want answers. Let us know in the comment box at the bottom

I did drive by again late Sunday evening just to make sure they were still closed. They were.

So what is going on?
