We Can Finally Say That Buc-ee’s is Officially Coming to Amarillo

We have been following this for about a month. Yes, a month. It just took a few moments to make Amarillo about the happiest of all people.

First it was just a rumor. Buc-ee's had a possible location. Nobody believed this was a possibility. Again it was just a rumor. Until Monday. That is when we found out that Buc-ee's location in Amarillo would be voted on at todays City Council Meeting.

I was worried. I was. We have a lot of people in Amarillo who like certain businesses. It is hard to break away from them. Really having Buc-ees here would be great. We would have new jobs. Oh, and jobs that paid well. We would have more people travelling to come to their store.

Tell me that is not true. How many of us travelled to Dallas to get their Buc-ee's fill? Yes, we may have been going for other reasons but deep down we knew. We were excited to have a reason

Day of the Vote, How Did it Go?

I didn't want to say I was still nervous. Oh, but really I was. We could find a way to mess this all up. We all hear all of the conspiracy theories of why we won't let this happen. I really hoped they weren't true.

Amarillo you did me proud today. Buc-ee's IS coming to Amarillo and it passed with a 5-0 vote. Not one person voted against. Yay. That is a victory for all of us here in our great city. Even those who have never been to one.

I am sure we will go now. Here is to Amarillo. Oh and look for us on the Buc=ee's website. We will for sure be under the Coming Soon area. We are not here yet.....
