Amarillo, Texas: Pizza Restaurant Closes Doors After Tragic Loss – Is it For Good?
There are several reasons that a business closes in Amarillo. Some are good and some are a little harder for the business and community to take. We like to celebrate the good things and will mourn the toughness along with the business.
Sometimes a place closes because the business plan just didn't work. The product may not have been what we wanted. The service may have not been up to standard.
Sometimes a place closes because the owners have decided it was time to retire and they are off to the next stage of their lives. Sometimes the closure is totally unexpected and we mourn not only the loss of the business but also the business owners. Death, unfortunately, is a fact of life.
Amarillo Restaurant Closes After Owner's Recent Passing
This unfortunately is something that recently affected the Pizza Planet on Hastings Avenue. It was owned by a husband and wife team when they first opened the doors. The husband, Robert Rogers passed away back in 2021.
That left Darla Rogers to continue keeping the pizza flowing since his passing. Unfortunately, that also came to an end back in March with Darla's passing. People started to wonder why Pizza Planet's location had been closed.
Is This the End of That Pizza Planet Location?
This Pizza Planet has been closed but there is still some hope that someone will come in and save that location. That is what Darla and Robert would have wanted. Their legacy to go on.
Hopefully, that is what will happen. Some family members want to continue the legacy and Amarillo hopes that is what happens. We want to continue to have three wonderfully delicious locations of Pizza Planets here in Amarillo.
