Did We Just Get Official Word on Amarillo’s HomeGoods?

We have been following this for a while. What started off with what I bet was a slip on the part of Coldwell Bankers a bit ago. They let it slip that HomeGoods was coming to Amarillo.

A simple storefront plan that they put out caught a lot of us by surprise. When we reached out to HomeGoods all they had to say was this:

Thank You for reaching back out! At this time, HomeGoods has not announced a new store in Amarillo, Texas.

We have received that response twice now from HomeGoods, once in July and the other time a month ago in September. The keyword that I focused on was "announced".

So it has not been announced yet. I can safely say that yes, after all the back and forth that it has been announced. I even reached back out to the folks at HomeGoods to see what they had to say. So we shall see. 

It looks pretty official to me. That we will, in fact, get a HomeGoods in the former Bed Bath and Beyond location. The area that they have been working on and taking signs down will be a place to shop for everything home-related.

So maybe they are slowing down and getting rid of their online shopping. That is OK because we are getting a storefront in Amarillo. Finally.

I am pretty excited about this. I will say I have been talking about us needing one for almost a year now. I am claiming victory for Amarillo here. Now if we can get the same kind of reaction when it comes to HEB, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's now. That would be pretty nice.
