Finally – Amarillo’s New Restaurant Revives Abandoned Space
Back when I was in college we would go to lunch every Tuesday to Kabuki on I40 near Western. That was when they had lunch specials. It was always the steak special on that day. This was an every single week routine.
Then they moved down the road to I40 and Soncy. Since the pandemic, they have not been open for lunch. So there went that lunch special. When Kabuki moved that made way for Kushi Yama to move into that former location.
I would go there several times too. I loved their food as well. Their location was perfect for me. It was right around the corner from my work. They weren't open all that long but I enjoyed them while they were. Then since they closed that location sat empty. For a pretty long time. Years and years.
We had watched the For Sale signs go up. We saw it go down as well. We just had no idea who or what was going to be moving into that location. Recently I drove by and saw that a new sign went up. So we were getting our answer.
The sign says C18. OK, so we know the name of it. That doesn't really give us the answers we are looking for. What is it? What will the food be like? Is it going to be a new fancy restaurant? Is it going to be a place we go for special occasions or is it an everyday kind of place?
We needed to know. So I saw a post that gave me some answers. In one of the restaurant review pages a post was made about C18.
New sports bar next to El Paton on W I-40. They specialize in fancy appetizers and bar drinks. Also live bands.
They are working on the building now. Working on getting it ready to go. So we will keep an eye out. We will keep watching for a menu. Can't wait to finally have that row of restaurants full and going again.
