There are different reasons that a local restaurant may close. They may be hurting for business. There is also maybe the fact that your location is either not good or maybe needs a lot of work done. This has been the case for some eating places.

Then there is the fact that you can no longer keep up with the rising costs. That is unfortunately what has happened to Aloha Kitchen in Bushland. They have been in the From 6th Collective Gift Shop for more than a year.

They were the go-to place for authentic Hawaiian food in the area. The owner brought back a lot of her favorite recipes from the islands. Oh, and they were good. I visited them a few times.

Aloha Kitchen had a very good following and a lot of people would make that short drive for the great food. So it came as a surprise when we saw the recent announcement on social media.

So it's not that the business was hurting for customers. It's just that the rent was going to be way too much. Which if they hung around it would just mean the prices would have to increase too much to make it work.

There is hope that they will find a new place to move the business to. That would be the best outcome for all of the Hawaii food fans. That is what Aunty Lisa is looking to have happen too. So we will keep our fingers crossed and an eye out for what may be in Aloha Kitchen's future.

Until then you have until the 29th to get out to Bushland and have some of the best Hawaiian food. Get out and support Aunty Lisa and lets hope she finds somewhere new to move.
