When a restaurant in Amarillo closes sometimes it is a surprise. There are times that we see it coming. When it is one that we expect it is usually one we never really went to. So when they close it is not really a big loss.

Then there are those closings that are sudden and hit us hard. We miss them and years later we are still talking about how we wish we had them back. Some that come to mind are Gardski's, Leal's, Ruby Tequila's, Bennigans, and Harrigan's. Those are some of the ones I see mentioned a lot.

There are some that we actually do see the end coming but it still hurts us. One of the most recent examples is Beef O'Brady's. We are not really surprised that they closed. They had some drama.

Oh, but dang we liked going there. So when they closed it hit hard. When St. Patrick's Day rolled around we noticed a lot of people missed them. They were the go-to for corned beef and cabbage. I really missed them on Mother's Day. That was the place my daughter and I went to every year.

Seeing them closed down also brought back all of our years and years of Pour Til a Score memories. We were there so often that we had many lifelong friends that we met while they were working there.

I saw a post on social media that there was work being done in the location. It has set empty since they got locked out back at the end of November. It seems that the lock-out is over. There is work being done.

The post also stated that a help wanted sign was up. I could not find one but that doesn't mean anything. I feel that it is coming.

There were people inside working on stuff inside Beef O'Brady's. That is good enough for me. The rumors I have seen online are looking to be true. Beef O'Brady's may live to see another day. I for one really hope so.

Oh, and for those keeping score they have a new Facebook page. I guess this is really happening.
