When you live in Texas you expect to have plenty of places to get a good steak. There are several places all over Amarillo for a juicy cooked to perfection meal. The problem is when you have a lot of good places the mediocre will not last long.

Amarillo is fickle that way. We have plenty of options and we will definitely have our favorites. If you go to I40 and Soncy and see all of the restaurants we have lining I40 you have to stand out.

When there are three steak places one is going to lose. There are several others nearby. So just at I40 and Soncy there is Saltgrass Steak House, there is also a Longhorn Steakhouse and there was a Logan's Roadhouse.

I say there was a Logan's because they are no more here in Amarillo. They were open over the weekend and when I drove by today they have signs up. They didn't waste any time on Google either.

Logan's has the Permanently Closed listing. That was fast.

It doesn't seem to be too big of a surprise that they are gone. I sent a message at work to mention they were closed and one of my co-workers response was "finally."

I sent my daughter a text about it too. Her response? "I knew it wouldn't be long. LOL. No one ever eats there." Ok, doesn't seem like a lot of hurt feelings over this closing. I can't even tell you the last time I have been to Logan's.

It would have been years. Many years. So it shouldn't be a surprise at all. I just hope they gave the staff a little bit of a heads up. That is what I always think about when a place closes suddenly.

So when was the last time you ate at Logan's Roadhouse? I am pretty sure that answer explains why they are permanently closed.
